Daily Readings - 16/07/2026

^26:7 The path of the upright man is straight, you smooth the way of the upright.

^26:8 Following the path of your judgements, we hoped in you, Yahweh, your name, your memory are all my soul desires.

^26:9 At night my soul longs for you and my spirit in me seeks for you; when your judgements appear on earth the inhabitants of the world learn the meaning of integrity.

^26:12 Yahweh, you are giving us peace, since you treat us as our deeds deserve.

^26:16 Distressed, we search for you, Yahweh; the misery of oppression was your punishment for us.

^26:17 As a woman with child near her time writhes and cries out in her pangs, so are we, Yahweh, in your presence:

^26:18 we have conceived, we writhe as if we were giving birth; we have not given the spirit of salvation to the earth, no more inhabitants of the world are born.

^26:19 Your dead will come to life, their corpses will rise; awake, exult, all you who lie in the dust, for your dew is a radiant dew and the land of ghosts will give birth.

^101:1 My song is about kindness and justice; Yahweh, I sing it to you.

^101:2 I mean to make good progress, as the blameless do: when will you come to me? In my household, I will advance in purity of heart;

^101:3 I will not let my eyes rest on any misconduct. I hate the practices of the apostate, they have no appeal for me;

^101:4 perverted hearts must keep their distance, the wicked I disregard.

^101:5 The man who secretly slanders his neighbour I reduce to silence; haughty looks, proud heart, I cannot tolerate these.

^101:6 I look to my religious countrymen to compose my household; only the man who makes progress, as the blameless do, can be my servant.

^101:7 There is no room in my house for any hypocrite; no liar keeps his post where I can see him.

^101:8 Morning after morning[*a] I reduce to silence all who are wicked in this country, banishing from the city of Yahweh all evil men.

^11:28 ‘Come to me, all you who labour and are overburdened, and I will give you rest.

^11:29 Shoulder my yoke and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.[*f]

^11:30 Yes, my yoke is easy and my burden light.’
