Ordinary Time Week XXVII White

First Reading : Dt 8, 7-18

No se encontró el libro para la sigla: Dt

Psalm : 1 Chr 29, 10-12

R. Yours, Lord, is the sovereignty.

29:10 In sight of the whole assembly David blessed Yahweh and said: ‘May you be blessed, Yahweh, the God of Israel our ancestor, for ever and for ever!

29:11 Yours, Yahweh, is the greatness, the power, splendour, length of days, glory, for all that is in the heavens and on the earth is yours. Yours is the sovereignty, Yahweh; you are exalted over all, supreme.

29:12 Riches and honour go before you, you are ruler of all, in your hand lie strength and power; in your hand it is to give greatness and strength to all.

Second Reading : 2 Cor 5, 17-21

5:17 And for anyone who is in Christ, there is a new creation; the old creation has gone, and now the new one is here.

5:18 It is all God’s work. It was God who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the work of handing on this reconciliation.

5:19 In other words, God in Christ was reconciling the world to himself, not holding men’s faults against them, and he has entrusted to us the news that they are reconciled.

5:20 So we are ambassadors for Christ; it is as though God were appealing through us, and the appeal that we make in Christ’s name is: be reconciled to God.

5:21 For our sake God made the sinless one into sin, so that in him we might become the goodness of God.

Gospel : Mt 7, 7-11

Effective prayer

7:7 ‘Ask, and it will be given to you; search, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you.

7:8 For the one who asks always receives; the one who searches always finds; the one who knocks will always have the door opened to him.

7:9 Is there a man among you who would hand his son a stone when he asked for bread?

7:10 Or would hand him a snake when he asked for a fish?

7:11 If you, then, who are evil, know how to give your children what is good, how much more will your Father in heaven give good things to those who ask him!
